⚜ What is a zine?
A zine, or fanzine, is used to name a project for an unofficial, fanmade publication that can be digital, physical, or both. Zines often contain a mix of artworks, writing, and merchandise for a specific fandom. Zines are the product of either a single person or a small group.
Zines are also a small-circulation self-published work of original texts or images, usually reproduced via a copy machine. At least, that was how zines started, and they are even still made that way today.
⚜ How old do contributors need to be?
We ask that all applicants be at least 16 years of age by the end of contributor apps.
⚜ How will contributors be compensated?
Contributors will receive at least a digital copy of the zine if the zine does not break even. Should the zine successfully break even, we will provide all contributors with a full physical bundle! Any extra profit made will be split evenly between all contributors and mods.
⚜ What characters are allowed in the zine?
Any character that has appeared in the storyline or is a playable character by the time contributors are accepted will be allowed in the zine. Any leaked characters will be forbidden.
⚜ Will ships be allowed?
We do not want to take away from the theme of the zine, so ships will not be allowed. Platonic relationships are welcomed, but the primary focus of the zine should be the characters and their connections to the zodiac signs.
⚜ Will AUs be allowed?
AUs will not be permitted. However, adding zodiac-related features to a character may be permitted on a case-by-case basis, since it is preferred to remain as canon-compliant as possible so as to not distract from the zine's theme.
⚜ How will contributor applications be evaluated?
==Artists will be judged on aspects such as technical skill (lighting, perspective, color, etc.), composition, anatomy, and style. Merch artists will be judged on technical aspects such as anatomy, composition, use of colors, as well as the overall appeal of their designs.
Writers will be judged on grammar, syntax, flow, and characterization. Other possible criteria could include the ability to tell a story within the required word count. Such criteria will depend on what writer roles are preferred within the interest check.
==⚜ Can an older piece be submitted for this zine?
Contributors will be asked to create new works to match approved pitches for the final pieces they submit to be published within the zine.
⚜ Will international shipping be available?
International shipping will be available as long as no mailing restrictions prevent us from being able to send the packages. Any covid regulations in place may also cause delays or prevent orders from being completed.
In regards to shipping to Europe, we will ship to the EU, but we will not be covering any VAT charges. We also cannot ship to the UK, but a UK GO can be held if we think there is enough interest.
An Etsy shop will not be opened for UK orders.

This zine will be taking on writers, merch artists, and page artists!
For writers, we will be taking on prose/fiction writers, poets, and article/interview/nonfiction writers. These are all part of one application (the writer application) while page artists and merch artists are separate.**✧ Applications are now closed! Thank you all for applying! ✧**⚜ General Application Requirements
• Three samples and a portfolio are required for each role.
This means three of your best pieces (samples) with a more comprehensive collection of your choosing (portfolio)!
• No NSFW pieces are allowed within the samples or portfolio submitted.
• Portfolios must have at least 5 pieces. At least 3 of which must be different from the samples you provide.
• Portfolios may be Google Drive folders, Carrds, personal websites, etc. so long as it is accessible.⚜ Prose/Fiction Writers:
• 3 samples, max ~3k words each.
• At least 1 sample needs to be a complete piece
• At least 1 Genshin Impact sample required
• Recommended to have one general (i.e. platonic) Genshin sample [not required]
• Portfolio⚜ Poets:
• 3 - 5 samples, no long poetry or ballads
• Portfolio⚜ Non-fiction/Article Writers:
• 3 samples, max ~1.5k words each
• At least one complete piece
• Portfolio⚜ Page Artists:
• 3 samples, at least 2 with full backgrounds
• At least 1 Genshin sample required
• Portfolio⚜ Merch Artists:
• 3 samples
